Center for Applied Energy Research e.V.
The Center for Applied Energy Research e.V. (CAE) researches and develops applied, practice-relevant, innovative solutions in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency technologies. CAE acts at the interface between knowledge-based basic research and applied industrial research and carries out research and development work from the idea to the prototype as well as from the material, via the component, to the application. We implement statutory goals together with our partners. The CAE transfers original ideas into practice in cooperation with commercial enterprises and other research partners and thus aims to make the greatest possible contribution to a sustainable, CO2-free and economical energy system. With its working groups “Climate Neutral Buildings and Cities”, “Smart Functional Materials”, “Advanced Thermal Management”, „Energy System Management and Technology Integration“ as well as “Sensors for Energy and Hydrogen Technology”, the CAE provides necessary research and development work for industry and sets new innovation impulses. In a separate Innovation Hub, the future topics “Hydrogen Technology” and “Digitalization in Energy Technology” are supported separately and synergy effects are achieved. CAE’s own “Guided Makerspace” gives young companies fast and unbureaucratic access to scientific machines and test rigs as well as to experts in CAE’s core competence fields.
